Jaguar E-Type 1965

The Jaguar E-Type caused an instant sensation when it was launched at the Geneva Motor Show on the 15th March 1961.
The E-Type was a sensational car in so many ways, with a claimed top speed of 150mph and 0-60mph time of under seven seconds and a launch price of around £2,250. But it was Malcom Sayers’ beautiful bodywork that truly set it apart from anything else on the road, with its flared in headlamps, long sculptured bonnet and sweeping curvy lines, with none other then Enzo Ferrari famously calling it “the most beautiful car he has ever seen”.

The 1965 model saw Jaguar increase the famous straight six engine from 3.8 litres to 4.2 litre along with fitting an all new synchromesh gearbox and more comfortable seats.

This particular Jaguar E-Type left Browns Lane in March 1965 and is a fixed head coupe (FHC) model and is an original UK RHD car.

This car drives superbly and the 4.2 litre straight six engine sounds simply amazing but of course it’s that breathtaking pure looking bodywork that captivates you the most, looks that you only get with a Series 1 Jaguar E-Type in one of the very best colour combinations.
